UTOPOLIS MANCHESTER

Manchester International Festival 2019

This was a unique event to be involved in.  Not so much a performance but an audience experience created by Rimini Protokol.  In small groups audience walked all over the city, visiting spaces and buildings rarely seen by the public.  The groups carried with them small speakers which guided them on their journey and filled it with sound as they went.  As the various small groups would come together at moments in certain places all their speakers would syncronise to create a combined sound-scape.  The culmination of the piece was the full audience together in one place for the first time with their 30 speakers all coordinating to create an immersive audio experience.
